About
John E. Wootton was admitted to the Oregon State Bar and the Utah State Bar in 2001. John practiced with the Mannix Law Firm in Salem, Oregon until relocating to Utah in 2004. At the Mannix Law Firm Mr. Wootton’s practice was centered on business transactions, employment law, insurance defense, and estate planning. Upon arriving in Utah, John started his own law practice where he specialized in business creation, contract law, corporate law, estate planning, VA benefits, and general litigation. John joined Pearson Butler in 2024 to focus his practice on estate planning.
John has been married to his sweetheart, Shelley, for 32 years and they have six amazing children and five wonderful grandchildren. John also has two golden doodles—Lilith and Kevin—who receive a lot of attention from the whole family.
John loves traveling to new and exciting places. He is always keen to learn about the area before visiting and seeking out the unique and bizarre. John enjoys reading, hiking, and speaking French. One of John’s favorite interests is learning about other people, cultures, and eating exotic foods.
